VITEM IV — Brazil Student Visa
One of the world's most accessible student visas. No language test. No minimum bank balance. No age limit. Our visa team handles every step.
The Visa That Removes Every Barrier
Brazil's student visa — VITEM IV — is specifically designed for international students enrolled at Brazilian educational institutions. It is among the most straightforward student visas in the world, and DC Global College's dedicated visa team guides every student through the entire process from start to finish.
If you have been discouraged from international study by complex visa systems, high bank balance requirements, or language test thresholds, the VITEM IV is the visa that changes that calculation entirely. The requirements are clear, the timeline is predictable, and with DC Global College managing your documentation, the process is as simple as it can possibly be.
Every student who pays their deposit receives their full visa document pack within 48 hours. We then remain available to answer every question your consulate raises, at every stage of the process, until your visa is issued and your travel is confirmed.
VITEM IV — At a Glance
From Application to Arrival — Step by Step
Every step is clearly defined, every document is provided by DC Global College, and our visa team is available at every stage. Here is exactly what the journey looks like.
Apply to DC Global College
Complete your application at dcgc.com.br/apply. Our admissions team reviews every application personally and contacts you within 24 to 72 hours to confirm your eligibility based on your academic background, course interest, and intended intake date. Once eligibility is confirmed, you will receive a formal Application for Admission — a structured document that guides you through uploading your supporting documents for verification.
Our admissions team verifies all submitted documents and information. Where documents meet our entry requirements fully, an unconditional offer letter is issued. Where conditions apply — for example, pending final examination results — a conditional offer letter is issued instead. In either case, your offer letter is issued within 1 to 5 working days of document verification.
Pay Your Deposit and Accommodation
To trigger the release of your visa documents, two payments are required: a 50% tuition deposit and your first month's accommodation fee. Full payment details, including accepted payment methods, bank account information, and reference instructions, are set out clearly within your offer letter. All payments must be made in accordance with the instructions stated in that document.
Receive Your Visa Document Pack
Within 48 hours of payment confirmation, DC Global College issues your complete VITEM IV visa document pack. Every document is bilingual (English and Portuguese) and signed by the DC Global College director. The pack includes everything the Brazilian consulate in your country requires.
Apply at the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate
Book your appointment at the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate in your country. Our visa team will prepare a personalised checklist for your specific consulate, advise you on the exact documents to bring, and remain available to answer any consulate questions in real time. Processing times vary by country but typically range from 15 to 30 days for VITEM IV applications.
Visa Approved — Pay Remaining Balance
Once your visa is approved, DC Global College sends your remaining tuition balance invoice — the 50% balance due before travel. This payment must be received a minimum of 14 days before your planned arrival date. Once confirmed, your room assignment, airport transfer, and orientation schedule are all confirmed in writing.
Arrive in Florianópolis
A DC Global College team member meets you at Florianópolis International Airport and transfers you directly to your accommodation. On your first day, a full orientation is conducted covering campus facilities, city navigation, healthcare registration, transport guidance, and your week-one academic schedule. You will not arrive in a new country alone.
Register with the Federal Police — SINCRE
Brazilian immigration law requires all VITEM IV holders to register with the Federal Police (Polícia Federal) within 30 days of arrival. This is done through the SINCRE system at the local Federal Police office. DC Global College's student welfare officer accompanies every student to their SINCRE appointment, ensuring the process is straightforward and completed on time. Registration produces the CRNM (Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório) — the Brazilian residence document that serves as your official identification throughout your studies.

Your Immigration Status While You Study
Once you arrive in Florianópolis, maintaining your immigration status is straightforward. DC Global College manages the institutional obligations and guides every student through the personal requirements.
SINCRE Registration
Within 30 days of arrival, every student must register with the Federal Police through the SINCRE system. DC Global College accompanies all students to this appointment. The result is the CRNM — your Brazilian residence document — which serves as official identification throughout your stay.
Attendance Requirements
The VITEM IV visa is maintained through active student status. DC Global College reports attendance to the relevant authorities as required by Brazilian law. Students must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance across their programme. Our academic team monitors attendance weekly and contacts any student falling below threshold before it becomes a compliance issue.
Address Registration
Brazilian immigration law requires students to notify the Federal Police of any change of address within 30 days of moving. DC Global College's welfare team manages all address updates for students living in institution-arranged accommodation, and advises students in private accommodation on the notification process.
Visa Renewal and Extension
Students enrolled in programmes longer than 12 months, or who extend their studies at DC Global College, are eligible for VITEM IV renewal. DC Global College initiates the renewal process 90 days before the current visa expiry date and provides all required institutional documentation. There is no interruption to your studies during the renewal period.

We submit applications to partner universities on your behalf, manage offer correspondence, and advise on the most suitable institution for your specific goals and circumstances.
Once an offer is confirmed, our visa team prepares and guides your student visa application for the destination country — whether that is a UK Student visa, a Canadian Study Permit, or a US F-1 visa. This service is provided at no additional charge.
You arrive at your university abroad with your qualification, your offer letter, and a team that remains contactable throughout your transition. We do not consider our work complete until you are settled and studying.
Work Experience — Staying in Brazil or Working Abroad
Graduates who wish to gain professional work experience before progressing to university have two primary pathways, and DC Global College supports both.
Working in Brazil: VITEM IV graduates may apply for a temporary work visa (VITEM V) if they secure employment in Brazil. DC Global College's employer partner network includes technology companies in the Florianópolis area. We facilitate introductions and provide the institutional documentation required for work visa applications.
Working in the UK: Graduates with qualifications aligned to the UK's Skilled Worker route may be eligible to apply directly for a UK Skilled Worker visa with an employer sponsor. DC Global College's career services team assists with job searching, CV preparation, and identifying employers who sponsor visas for roles matching our graduates' qualifications.
Working in Canada: Canada's Express Entry system values the educational credentials and English language proficiency that DC Global College graduates hold. Our career team advises on Express Entry eligibility and supports the initial stages of the Permanent Residency application process for qualifying graduates.
All post-study visa guidance and application support is provided by DC Global College's visa team as part of our commitment to graduates. There is no additional charge for this service. Our relationship with our students does not end at graduation — it simply changes form.
Visa FAQ
The questions our admissions team answers most often about the VITEM IV process. If your question is not answered here, contact us directly. We respond to every enquiry within 24 to 72 hours.
Can I apply for the visa before paying my full tuition?
Yes. The VITEM IV visa process is triggered by your deposit payment — 50% of your tuition and your first month's accommodation fee. The remaining 50% of tuition is due after your visa is approved and at least 14 days before your arrival date.
What if my consulate asks for documents not in the standard pack?
Some consulates request additional documentation beyond the standard set. DC Global College's visa team issues any additional required documents within 24 hours of receiving the consulate's request. This has never delayed a student's visa application when managed through our team.
Can I travel to other countries while studying in Brazil?
Yes. The VITEM IV does not restrict international travel. You may leave and re-enter Brazil freely provided your visa remains valid. DC Global College advises students planning extended travel during semester breaks to confirm their attendance status before departing.
Can my family visit me in Brazil?
Yes. Family members wishing to visit Brazil may apply for a tourist visa (VITEM I) at the Brazilian consulate in their country. Brazil allows tourist visits of up to 90 days. DC Global College can provide supporting documentation confirming your student status to assist family members' tourist visa applications.
What happens if my visa application is refused?
Visa refusals for VITEM IV applications from students holding complete DC Global College documentation are rare. In the event of a refusal, our visa team analyses the reason, prepares the appropriate response or supplementary documentation, and guides you through the reapplication process. Your deposit is held and your place is secured throughout this process.
Does the VITEM IV allow me to work in Brazil?
The VITEM IV student visa does not include an automatic right to work in Brazil. Students wishing to undertake paid internships or part-time employment must obtain a specific work authorisation. DC Global College can advise students on the appropriate authorisation process and, where applicable, provide institutional support for applications.
How long does SINCRE registration take?
The SINCRE appointment itself typically takes 30–60 minutes. The CRNM document is issued within 10–15 business days of the appointment. DC Global College schedules SINCRE appointments during orientation week, ensuring every student completes registration well within the 30-day requirement.
Is my DC Global College qualification recognised for UK visa purposes?
DC Global College programmes are designed for direct alignment with UK university entry requirements and UK professional certification frameworks. Graduates holding CompTIA, Cambridge English, Cisco, or Trinity College London qualifications from DC Global College meet the academic requirements for a range of UK immigration routes, including the Student visa and, for employed graduates, the Skilled Worker visa.
